Originated through the Young People’s Health Event in November 2008 the Reachout Youth Project aims to address many of the issues and concerns raised by young people in the community.
The project involves engaging young people through new ways of working and particularly in their own territory such as streets, cafes and parks at times that are appropriate to young individuals.
Through providing young people with knowledge we offer them the tools they can use to make positive lifestyle choices and improve their future prospects.
Essentially the project will explore new ways of working by frontline agencies concerned with the Health and Wellbeing of young people in the London Borough of Haringey.
The following specific activities will be undertaken by the project:
- Drug advice and information
- Alcohol advice and information
- Quitting smoking
- Sexual Health advice and information
- Healthy Eating and Exercise
- Tackling poverty (Benefits, Housing and Financial advice)
- Careers, Training and Employment
- Life Coaching and Mentoring
- Dealing with Crime
The Reachout Youth Project is also available to be delivered through schools, PRU’s and community centres. Please call us on 020 8808 6550 or email us firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
